On August 21, 1982 a star was born. A star named Tonya Jean Mitchell from a small town in Tennessee. "Music has been my life" recalls Tonya. Having had her first public appearance at the age of seven, Tonya grew up singing along with superstars such as Debbie Gibson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and many others. At the tender age of fifteen Tonya was discovered by Justin Timberlake's grandfather while singing at a small charity benefit in Tennessee. Tonya then signed with Lynn Harless' Just In Time Management company and began process on her career. She recorded an album with Universal Records titled "I Represent" which was released in early 2001. She traveled the country performing and even touring with *NSYNC on their 2001 Pop Odyessy Tour, and even hitting the "Top 40" with her single "Broken Promises". "Tonya has accomplished a lot, we're so proud of her" says Tonya's mother.
Little did Tonya know that her luck would soon change. In July of 2001 Tonya's father "Cowboy Louie Mitchell" passed away. Soon after the devastating news Tonya was released from her record company and management as
ll. "It didn't seem like things could get worse" recalls Tonya. "You just have to accept what GOD gives you in this life and know that he won't give you anything you can't handle". Tonya then found the love of her life and got married in 2002 and they welcomed their first child into the world in early 2004. "It's amazing how much your life can change in such little time! I'm so happy again" says Tonya.
After having time off for her family, Tonya is back in full force, ready to show the world just what she's made of. Tonya has teamed up with Brand-On Entertainment and is now launching her new career. Tonya describes her career as "Amazing! I'm having a blast!".
