Actress Mary Tyler Moore was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 29th 1936. She made her debut in 1959 as Sam the secretary in Richard Diamond, Private Detective. Her face was never shown on the show, just her voice and legs. In 1961 she won the part of Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show
