Sidney Eddie Mosesian, better known as Sid Haig, was born in Fresno, California on July 14, 1939. As a child Sid was growing so fast that he was awkward and lacked coordination. To remedy this problem his mother enrolled him in dance lessons, which marked the beginning of his career. At the age of seven he was paid for dancing in a children's Christmas show, followed by a failed revival of a vaudeville show.

Dancing was not the only talent that Sid excelled in as an adolescent. After years of cooking in dented pots and pans, Sid's parents invested in a drum set. Sid had a natural knack for music and the drums proved to be only the beginning of a lifelong passion for music. One year after graduating from high school Sid signed his first recording contract.

Making money and playing music seemed to go hand in hand for Sid. Even with all of the talents that Sid possessed, there was one interest that took priority and helped create the man we know and love....ACTING!

Alice Merrill was the head of the drama department during Sid's high school career and she gave him all the encouragement he needed to pursue his dream of acting. During his Senior year, Dennis
rgan, a famous musical comedy star from the 1940's, suggested that Merrill cast Sid into a leading role. After seeing the performance Mr. Morgan encouraged Sid to continue to pursue an acting career. Two years later Sid enrolled in the world famous "Pasadena Playhouse."

Sid's first job was in Jack Hill's student film, "The Host," at UCLA. The film has been released as a companion disk to "Switchblade Sisters." Over a 40 year period, Sid Haig has appeared in over 50 films and 350 television show, and has directed or was second unit director for several others. He was a featured player in several Roger Corman productions such as “The Big BirdCage” and the “Big Doll House.” He is also famous for having appeared in legendary cult director Jack Hill’s classic films “Spider Baby,” “Coffy” and “Foxy Brown.” Other memorable on screen turns include “Diamonds Are Forever” and George Lucas’s “THX-1138.” Other notable television appearances include a starring role in “Jason of Star Command” as well as guest appearances on “Batman,” “Star Trek,” “Mission Impossible,” “I Spy,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” and “Get Smart,” to name a few.

In 1997 Quentin Tarantino asked Sid to play the part of the judge in "Jackie Brown," a role written specifically for him. Following "Jackie Brown," Rob Zombie asked Sid to act in the role of Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s "House of 1000 Corpses." This role and the movie breathed new life into Sid's acting career. Captain Spaulding has become the icon for the new horror genre and is adored by fans of all ages. Sid has just finished filming the sequel to “House of 1000 Corpses,” called “The Devil's Rejects.”

Sid now resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife patt and has two grown children. He works as a Certified Hypnotherapist and has worked with many celebrities. Sid takes an active roll in many charity programs, including the YMCA and the American Youth Soccer
