Static-X fue formado en [1994]] de las cenizas de la anterior banda de Wayne Static y Ken Jay, Deep Blue Dream. Después de buscar integrantes en Chicago, Static y Jay decidieron ir a Los Angeles para continuar su búsqueda. ahí conocieron a Tony Campos y Koichi Fukuda, completando la formación original.
