Richie Ren
| Biography |
Richie Ren is one of the most popular singers and actors in Hong Kong today. The Taiwanese-born singer made his film debut in No Sir in 1994. After 1995's Too Cool, Richie took a break films to concentrate on his successful singing career. He was originally more known for his singing than his acting. However, in 1999, that all changed as he starred in two high profile films. He starred in the romantic drama Fly Me To Polaris with Cecilia Cheung in the male lead. He also appeared as Shu Qi's so-called "boyfriend" in the Jackie Chan movie Gorgeous. His scenes with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai remains one of the funniest scenes in a Hong Kong movie today (in my opinion). In 2002, Ren bounced back big and starred opposite Sammi Cheng in Marry A Rich Man and the girl group Twins in Summer I Love You. Richie continues success with his singing today as well. In 2004, Richie speaks some English in the Michelle Yeoh flick Silver Hawk in the main male lead and in 2004, got a villain role in the action drama Breaking News. |
