Gipsy Kings

Español Français Deutsch Italiano

Biography
The Gipsy Kings, who rocketed to fame in the late 80's with their hit singles "Bamboléo" and "Djobi Djoba", have become an indispensable ingredient for fiestas worldwide. The Arles Gipsies have certainly come a long way from their humble beginnings busking on café terraces on the Côte d'Azur. Indeed, after selling several million albums and almost as many concert tickets, the Reyes and Baliardi brothers have become veritable mega-stars in the United States (a rare achievement for a French group, it must be said!) Such is the phenomenal success of the band's modern Gipsy fusion, that several other Gipsy-influenced groups have now sprung up in their wake. But, thanks to their having been discovered by France's legendary screen goddess Brigitte Bardot, the Reyes and Baliardi clan remain the Kings of them all!
