When the American Music club publishes 1991 its fifth album "Everclear", the critics with Lobeshymnen estimate themselves. "one of the largest living poets", writes the English Melody Maker over singers and Songwriter Mark Eitzel. The New Yorker Village Voice compares it with John Steinbeck, San Francisco Chronicle sees in it a mixture from Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison and Bono. Thirteen years later it the British daily paper Guardian kuert to of "Americas largest living poet". Despite its cult status ' those never reached volume a large commercial success, what is to be assigned rather to its will as coincidence-conditioned circumstances. The AMC accumulates 1983 in San Francisco.
