After 31 years in racing, Ricky Rudd has decided to retire from full-time Cup racing at the end of the 2005 season.
The driver of the #21 Motorcraft Ford may race a few races in 2006 if he's needed as a substitute driver. Since his Cup debut on March 2, 1975 at Rockingham, Rudd has scored 23 career victories. He holds the NASCAR record for consecutive starts with 786, a streak that began in 1981.
