Biography
Jerry Stackhouse was born on November 5, 1974, in Kinston North Carolina. He went to college at the university of North Carolina. He is 6 feet 6 inches tall and is around 218 lbs. He was a very determined basketball player. In his sophomore year he was chosen to be All-American First Team. His sophomore year was in 1995. He was named player of the year by Sports Illustrated. He was great in his freshmen year being named MVP of the ACC Tournament. His second year was spectacular also he was short of the MVP award again but he still went to the ACC Tournament. He was named All-Freshmen Team. He was compared to Michael Jordan many times while playing at North Carolina. He was picked in the 1995 NBA Draft with the Sixers third pick. He started right off with the Sixers and as a rookie. He made the All-Rookie First Team. He was scoring the most in his draft class scoring a 19.2 average per game. He was player of the month of march as a rookie. He was also setting many franchise records at Philadelphia mainly scoring since he usually has a great game when it came to scoring. One of the scoring records was points scored. He wasn't going to stop their he was also going to try the life of an all-star by entering the Rookie game and the Slam Dunk

Competition. Soon after, Stackhouse was draft the Sixers picked up Allen Iverson which forced Jerry to be traded to the Pistons, for lack of room on the roster. He was traded December 18, 1997 along with Eric Montross to the Detroit Pistons. He accepted a 7 year contract worth over 37 million dollars, on January 22, 1999. On September 11, 2002 of last years off season former Detroit Piston Jerry Stackhouse signed with the Washington Wizards.
