Alessandro Del Piero (born November 9, 1974 in Conegliano) is an Italian (Italian: A native or inhabitant of Italy) football (football: Any of various games played with a ball (round or oval) in which two teams try to kick or carry or propel the ball into each other's goal) player. He usually plays as a forward (forward: A position on a basketball team) or between the midfield (midfield: (sports) the middle part of a playing field (as in football or lacrosse)) and the strikers.

Del Piero started his professional career in 1991 with Padova (Padova: A city in Veneto) of Italian Serie B (Serie B: serie b is the name of the second highest football league in italy....

Despite a large amount of success on the club level, Del Piero has experienced a lot of inconsistency with the Italian national team (Italian national team: the italy national football team is one of the most successful national football teams, having...

He then played in the 2002 World Cup (2002 World Cup: more facts about this subject) , and finally did score his first World Cup goal, but Italy once again exited early. Despite his past inconsistency, Del Piero was not half as bad as the rest of the Italian national team at Euro 2004 (Euro 2004: the 2004 uefa european football championship, commonly called euro 2004, was held in...
