Biography
A native Californian, Rider Strong's first professional acting job was the role of Gavroche in the San Francisco production of Les Miserables when he was only nine years old. He has had numerous television guest-star credits on such shows as Evening Shade, Empty Nest, Nurses, Time Trax, and the ABC series, Maybe This Time and Home Improvement.

He also had a recurring role on Party of Five, playing series regular Lacey Chabert's first boyfriend. His movies for television include The Last Hit, The Long Road Home and Summertime Switch.

In addition to his work on Boy Meets World, Rider recently guest-starred in two episodes of the award-winning ABC series, The Practice. He played a teenager who lied on the witness stand, claiming to have shot his mother, to protect his father who actually committed the crime.

Nineteen-year-old Rider is no stranger to film. He co-starred with Donald Sutherland and Amy Irving in Benefit of the Doubt. In 1998, he landed a leading role in The Pact, where he played a street kid coerced by the mob to find and kill a teen in the U.S. Justice Department's witness protection program.

In 1995, his brother, Shiloh, wrote and co-produced (with Rider) a play entitled Shades of Blue for a Los Angeles stage production, in which Rider co-starred along with Shiloh. The critically acclaimed play was a recipient of the prestigious Drama-logue award. A screen version of Shades of Blue, also written by Shiloh and produced by Rider's production company, Redwood Shire Productions, has received considerable studio interest.

Rider currently enjoys a sustained level of popularity among young and mainstream audiences alike. He was recently recognized by professionals in the industry when casting directors, producers and directors nominated him for his work on Boy Meets World for the Hollywood Reporter YoungStar Awards.

Rider spends his work week in Hollywood, where he is also a student in college. He returns to Northern California for the weekends where he lives with his mom, Lin Warner-Strong; dad, King Arthur Strong; and older brother, Shiloh King Strong.

A true lover of the outdoors, he enjoys backpacking, swimming, white-water rafting, playing soccer, rollerblading, listening to his eclectic music collection, writing, and reading poetry from Keats to Kerouac.
