Nick Cheung
| Biography |
Nick Cheung is one of the funniest actors to hit the screens. If Stephen Chow is the King of Hong Kong "mo lei tau" comedy, after seeing The Tricky Master, Nick can be considered the prince. Then again, after working with Wong Jing, who didn't have their "mo lei tau" days. Anyway, Nick made his film debut in Danny Lee's Thank You, Sir! in 1989. In 1992, he played one of Andy Lau's team members in the action comedy What A Hero!, although he was pretty much a wasted talent here. In 1998, Nick starred in the first of the Conman series of action comedies, where he teamed up once again with Andy Lau. The performance, other than TM that showed his goofiness was 2000's The Duel. He recently starred in a film called Time 4 Hope. Aside from acting, Nick is an accomplished singer. Nick is best known today for his gambling films but in late 2003, Nick decided that after years of making gambling films, it was time to hang it up. After signing a contract with a new company, Fate Fighter is Nick's final gambling film and Nick decided to concentrate more on his singing career than his acting. He no longer wants to be typecast as a gambling king, yet fans will forever remember him as the "King of Gambling films". |
