She's one of the world's most beautiful and recognizable models, even making the definition of supermodel - fame, fortune, boyfriend (Kid Rock), but just a few years ago she was just Jamie.
Jamie King was born and raised smack dab in middle America - Omaha, Nebraska. She's a young one, born in 1979, and named "Jamie" after Jamie Sommers, the 70s TV character on "Bionic Woman". She started modeling full time at the tender age of 14, when she was discovered at a modeling school. She left the school, began home studies, and her career as a model.
One of her downfalls has been drug addiction, a problem that plagued her in both life and in the media, as she was consistenly hounded with questions and concerns about her drug use. But, in 1997, her then-boyfriend Davide Sorrenti overdosed on heroin and died. James dropped the habit immediately. She has been known to wear an "SKE" necklace, an item that was passed on to her from Sorrenti's mother on his death.
She has a fledgling film career, blooming with five films scheduled for release in 2001. But more importantly, she has nine beautiful tattoos, a diamond, a spade, two fairies, "King", a symbol, and some more that we may never know (and Kid Rock knows intimately). |
