Biography
Acclaimed stage, screen and television actor IAN HOLM is a veteran of over 50 films.

His many television credits include the upcoming HBO production of The Last of the Blonde Bombshells, in which he co-stars opposite Judi Dench.

Holm made his first appearance on the stage at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in 1954 in Othello. He stayed with the company for two seasons and appeared in Macbeth and Titus Andronicus, among other productions. In 1961 he became a long-term contract artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in London and Stratford in numerous productions.

In 1965 he began a long and meaningful association with the acclaimed playwright Harold Pinter, earning the Evening Standard Actor of the Year Award for his work in Pinter�s The Homecoming (and in Shakespeare�s Henry V).

In 1967 he won the Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for The Homecoming, and in 1993 he won the Evening Standard Award as well as the Critics Circle Award for his work in Moonlight. In 1998 Sir Ian Holm received his knighthood.
