Chip Esten
| Biography |
Versatile performer Charles "Chip" Esten made his theatrical debut in London when he portrayed Buddy Holly in the hit West End musical "Buddy." It was during this run that he first appeared on the original British version of Whose Line is it Anyway? Later, while touring with "Buddy" in the United States, he was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award. He has also appeared as a different Buddy in the original cast of "The Last Session."
Esten's many television acting credits include the series The Crew and The Brian Benben show, the movies 61* and The Sleepwalker Killing and guest appearances on Cheers, Star Trek: Voyager, Diagnosis Murder, JAG, Murphy Brown, Jesse, The Trouble with Normal and Providence. His feature film debut was in the Kevin Costner-directed The Postman. He has also appeared in Late Last Night and Thirteen Days
Raised in Alexandria, Virginia, he graduated from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was there that he met his future wife, Patty. They currently reside in Los Angeles with their daughters, Taylor and Addie, and their son Chase.
Esten's birth date is September 9.
