Brendan Gleeson
| Biography |
A burly redhead, Brendan Gleeson first gained notice as Haimish, one of the mates of Mel Gibson's William Wallace in the Oscar-winning epic "Braveheart" (1995). But the actor had already amassed an impressive resume. The Dublin native had spent nearly a decade working on stage while supporting his family as a schoolteacher. At age 34, he decided to fully concentrate on a showbiz career and began to win small roles in films (e.g, a quarryman in Jim Sheridan's "The Field" 1990; policeman in "Far and Away" 1992; a bar patron in "The Snapper" 1993).... |
