| Biography |
Rachel Kramer Bussel lives in New York City. She is Senior Editor at Penthouse Variations, and a Contributing Editor to Penthouse. Her books include The Lesbian Sex Book, 2nd edition (Alyson, 2003), Up All Night: Adventures in Lesbian Sex (Alyson, 2004), Naughty Spanking Stories from A to Z (Pretty Things Press, 2004) and the forthcoming Cheeky: Essays on Spanking and Being Spanked (Greenery Press, Spring 2005), Naughty Spanking Stories from A to Z 2 (Pretty Things Press, September 2005) and Glamour Girls: Femme/Femme Erotica (Haworth Press, 2006). She has written for numerous publications including Alternative Press, Adult Video News, AVN Online, Blacktable.com, Bust, Cleansheets.com, Curve, Diva, Girlfriends, New York Hot Sex, On Our Backs, Oxygen.com, Playgirl, Punk Planet,Rockrgrl, San Francisco Bay Guardian, The San Francisco Chronicle, Velvetpark, The Village Voice and others. She writes the bimonthly Lusty Lady sex column for The Village Voice and is a rotating interviewer at Gothamist.com.
As an erotica writer, her work appears in over 50 anthologies (see resume for details) including Best American Erotica 2004, Best Lesbian Erotica 2001, Best Lesbian Erotica 2004, Best Lesbian Erotica 2005, Best of the Best Lesbian Erotica 2, Best Women's Erotica 2003 and 2004, and Best of the Best Women's Erotica, as well as numerous online and print publications. She has read her work across the country in venues including Bluestockings, Bowery Poetry Club, Halcyon, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Center, The Living Room, The Lucky Cat, Lucky 13, Makor, Meow Mix, Remote Lounge, and Telephone Bar, Toys in Babeland, and at series such as Atomic Reading Series, Cupcake Reading Series, East Side Oral, Happy Ending Reading Series, Sunday Salon, and WYSIWYG in New York, Lambda Rising in Washington, D.C., Good Vibrations, Modern Times Bookstore and Books, Inc. in San Francisco, and A Different Light in Los Angeles. She has appeared on Playboy Radio and the Derek & Romaine Show on SiriusOutQ, as well as the television shows In The Life, Naked New York, and Berman & Berman, with a forthcoming appearances on HBO's Real Sex and Jane's New York.
Rachel holds a bachelor's degree in political science and women's studies from the University of California at Berkeley and has studied at the New York University School of Law. |
