Natalie Maines

Biography
Natalie Louise Maines was born on October 14, 1974 in the west Texas town of Lubbock. Her father, Mr. Lloyd Maines was a famed steel guitar player and producer whose band, The Maines Brothers Band, achieved success during the 1980s. Her mother is one Tina Maines. Natalie also has one sister named Kim who works as a newsanchor for KXAN-TV.

In doing the math, you would find that Natalie is 24 years old currently. Although you wouldn't know it from the picture above, her hair is normally a platinum blonde. =) Her beautiful eyes are blue, and she's only 5'3" tall (I say only because I'm 6'1" and 5'3" is a long way down. =P) And for the record, she's a righty.

Now for the fun stuff. Before she joined the Dixie Chicks and bolted for Nashville in 1995, Natalie had been waitress and was known moderately well in the Dallas area for her musical ability. She was in attending Berklee School of Music in Boston on scholarship, but after changing her major four times she checked out and headed to Nashville to be the newest Dixie Chick.

Currently, Miss Maines is divorced, and hence single (do you think I have a chance?).

Her musical talent really started at early age--as early as 3. Natalie learned to play the piano at 12 and has only recently learned how to play the acoustic guitar. Her family had always been on the musical side, and Natalie grew up around music, making it difficult not to be talented in the area.

After Natalie joined the Dixie Chicks, her father helped the budding trio out by offering them a song called "Wide Open Spaces." It later, as you all know, became the title song to their first hit album.

Getting a bit more personal, Natalie's favorite things to do are reading, decorating her home and watching movies. Her favorite movie is Grease (a classic in my opinion as well), and in turn her favorite actor is John Travolta. She likes also likes to watch "Party of Five." Natalie also has an aversion to people who chew gum (lucky for me, I hardly ever chew gum).
