Linda Davis

Biography
26 November 1962, Dodson, Texas, USA. The 90s country singer Linda Davis made her debut at the age of six at a local jamboree and recorded her first album before winning the Louisiana Hayride Star Search when she was 15. Guitarist Phil Baugh encouraged her to pursue a career in music and partnered her with Skip Eaton as the duo Skip And Linda. The singles they recorded together, however, were not major hits, the most successful being the strangely titled "If You Could See Through My Eyes". She earned better money by singing commercials and eventually signed to Liberty Records and recorded two albums of dramatic songs, very much in the style of Reba McEntire. McEntire asked her to record a duet with her, "Does He Love You". The duo also stormed the CMA awards show. Shoot For The Moon features songs about alcoholism, absent fathers and crumbling relationships, and includes a song about sexual harassment at work, "Company Time". In 1996 both the album Some Things Are Meant To Be and the title-track, which was released as a single, fared well in the US country charts.
