Through roads not traveled and ones intentionally walked and yet some forced, La Toya Jackson courageously breaks away and celebrates her re-emergence with her appropriately titled CD, Startin' Over. From the calm of Gary, Indiana where she

was born, to the charm of Europe, and back to the penetrating spotlight of Hollywood, La Toya has been exposed to entertainment, cultural experiences, human interaction, family, business and success. She's passionate, spontaneous, fun, a perfectionist, and energetic and yes, she's Startin' Over.

La Toya has not only become a role model, but through her climb to the top, seeming effortless, her latest single "Just Wanna Dance" becomes this summer's Top 15 Billboard Dance hit. All this came about when La Toya signed with JA-TAIL Records and spent countless months recording over 25 songs and selecting 14 of them for her new CD.

JA-TAIL Records calls the emerging of La Toya "a long anticipated wave waiting to ride." After several months, looking for producers who could truly share her passion and motivation,

La Toya decides, "this is it, this is the time; my
Over mirrors La Toya's real life experiences. Her lyrics, deliberately chosen, ring true to the heart and dynamically reveal the story of a woman who succumbs; overcomes obstacles; rising ambitiously to live; and essentially the desire to start over. "For once in my life I've been able to make the final decisions with regards to this album. Startin' Over is exactly what I've done in every aspect of my life and this album sings about everything people have wanted to know about me and my feelings towards my family, the tabloids, my friends, having fun, you know... my life", La Toya says proudly of her CD.

La Toya has experienced both successes and setbacks and through each stage of her life she's been exposed to something new and has helped build the woman she is today. When you listen to Startin' Over which features the most appropriate song for the world, "Free The World" and the long awaited song about her family, "Home", you will undoubtedly be touched. The album is upbeat with fresh sounds, dance, pop and hip-hop grooves as well as possessing a strong rock feel.

Since the release of her latest single, "Just Wanna Dance", La Toya's clever tactic of releasing the single under her nickname, "Toy", allowed listeners to truly judge the song based on its own merit rather than the reputation of the Jackson name. La Toya will soon be releasing her next single, "Free The World" this Fall 2004.

What sets La Toya apart from her siblings is her tenacious outlook on life, after reading to her a caption from a quote she recently expressed to her fans: "Never give up on your dreams. Never let others discredit you. You must believe in yourself more than others. Keep a positive attitude and if the negative forces of life become too overwhelming, never forget, that it's never too late to Start Over..." La Toya exhales and explains, it's that simple.

The Jacksons strong religious belief and supportive nature set the stage for the Jackson siblings to interact and work together as a team, a family unit. Her show business career started at the young age of 16 when she performed side-by-side with her brothers, The Jackson Five at MGM.

La Toya's previous dance hit, "If You Feel The Funk" was back in 1980 from her self-titled debut album which peaked at No. 17 and another single from the same album which she co-wrote and which was produced by Michael Jackson, Night Time Lover with Stevie Wonder on harmonica, made the charts in the top 40. She also collaborated with Jimmy Cliff and co-wrote "Reggae Nights" which received a Grammy nomination.

These achievements weren't enough to satisfy her spirit and her first lesson from childhood taught her that nothing can be achieved without sweat equity and hard work. La Toya put music on the side for awhile and then electrified the world by posing for Playboy Magazine in 1989. Her layout sold over 8 million copies within one month; more than any other issue in Playboy's 50 year history and La Toya became the highest-paid model of the publication.

Later in 1991, La Toya took pen to paper and wrote media history with her book titled, La Toya, Growing Up In The Jackson Family which made it on the New York Times Best Seller List at the No. 2 position for several weeks, selling over a million copies. In 1993, La Toya appeared in her own exercise video entitled Step-Up Workout With La Toya Jackson and received "A" status ratings with excellent reviews.

The forced path La Toya took had her sign a multi-million dollar deal with the world famous Moulin Rouge in Paris where she became the highest paid performer in the theatre's history. But where La Toya's passion lies aside from singing is her desire for helping sick and needy children all around the world. As a humanitarian, La Toya explored several hospitals throughout the country visiting and giving hope to sick children. She has toured with the late Bob Hope and the USO in support of American soldiers in the Gulf War. As well as working side by side with Nancy Reagan as spokeswomen for the Just Say No anti-drug campaign.

La Toya has guest-starred on many television shows. In 2004, VH-1 All Access followed La Toya for a spotlight interview successfully capturing her innocence, gentleness, and beautiful spirit of detachment which allowed her the peace of mind to start over. La Toya was interviewed by ABCs 20/20 for a special that will be premiered in December 2004 which will be a true unveiling of a lady who shares the truth and finally puts all the rumors to rest. Previously in 2003, La Toya appeared on CNN Larry King Live, which marked her first comeback
