Biography

Angela Baraldi was born June 12 th 1964 in Suburb Panigale. Its first musical experiences go up again to the beginnings of the years '80 where it starts to sing with groups underground of the area bolognese as the Hi-fi Brotherses and The Stupid Set. During the years as corista collaborates with many artists, among which Stadium, Luca Carboni, Ron and Lucio Da her. And' really to furnish her to her the first opportunities: it participates as corista in the 1986 American tour "Dallamerica" and in 1988 to the tour "From the Morandi". In the meantime it engraves a song for the sonorous column of the film "The Picaris", with Henry Montesano and Giancarlo Giannini.

Produced by Lucio Da her and Bruno Mariani, the disk he/she sees among the authors other important names as Luca Carboni and Biagio Antonacci. Criticism greets ago positively the debut and the share to the Discoverde and to other musical demonstrations so that also the public acknowledges her. In the 1992 Angela it wins the Canzoniere with the song "you love Me or no? " what it will give the title to the his/her according to album; you/he/she is published besides for the radios the single one "Sweet sad eyes" sung in English, in origin destined to the foreign market but that you/he/she is not officially published.

In the 1993 Angela it participates in the Festival of Sanremo in the section "Young people" with the song "Á. naked feet"; the final classification sees only her 13esima but its performance it is worth her the Prize of the Criticism. Is you/he/she contemporarily published "you love Me or no? ", that the attention of the specialized newspapers receives and does her/it know to a vast public.

The disk sees a great maturation of Angela, co-author of all the songs, with very personal texts, at times ironic and direct, other times more introspective. During the year Angela opens the tourneè of Francis De Gregori, with which duetta also on the stage (documented meeting in the live of De Gregori "Bootleg", in which sing together "sulphurous Anhydride" than From her) and subsequently it participates in the "Tour in the city", a collective tour in which other young artists of the RCA as Sam Bersani, Tosca and Bungaro, with which it also engraves a cover of the participate "Aida" of Rino Gaetano.

1994 sees a record break for Angela, that however engraves a beautiful version of the battistiana "Confusion" for the album-tribute "Innocent escapes 2". the cinema debut Arrives with "As two crocodiles", for the regal one of Giacomo Campiotti, that had already directed Angela in its first videoclips. The film, in which you/they participate among the others Giancarlo Giannini, Valeria Golino and Fabrizio Bentivoglio, receives good critiques and also receives many prizes to the foreign countries.
In the 1995 Angela it is at work around his/her third album; a single anticipatore is published in the summer, with three new songs and a cover of a song of Bob Marley, "Hurting inside", that in Italian it becomes "Account the days that pass". "100 days" it enjoys of a good broadcast promotion but I am also "Vortex" and "Without" to strike, showing more and more an author and mature and personal interpreter.
The career of actress continues with a small part in the film "Jack Frusciante is gone out of the group", with Stephen Accorsi, drawn by the book of Henry Brizzi.

Inexplicably announces him album it suffers some delays and "lubricating Baraldi" he/she sees only the light in September of 1996. The song that opens the disk, only not written by Angela, it is an unpublished work of Francis De Gregori, "Give me to eat", that will be taken back by the author in his/her live "You the actor's suitcase."
The album marks ahead decidedly another footstep for Angela: in general the atmosphere is very introspective with very beautiful texts that look for more always the poetry and the pure emotion. "Vortex" and "Without" resumptions come in here more electric versions, while you are mocking as "Breath" and "Those we are us" they reenter by law among the best of its repertoire.

The scarce commercial comparison of the album is the principal cause of the musical break that follows. Angela loosens the contract with the BMG and devotes him to other: a film for the television, "Of sky in sky", for which engraves also the theme it drives "you shout around her"; a short film as actress, "Fuochino" of Carlotta Cerquetti, that the prize also yields her "Claudio Gora" for best actress to the Festival of Trevignano Romano.

During the 1998 Angela it participates in the cultural demonstration "A light for the poetry" and it begins a long tourneè in the clubs.
A collaboration with the Deltas V in the passage "Silences", included in theirs "Psychobeat" of the 1999 door also the share as actress to their video "The first day of the world" and some exhibition as guest in their concerts.

In 2000 a new contract with the WEA finally brings Angela to return to the music recording in London a new CD. "Rosasporco", produced by prestigious names as Phil Palmer and Roberto Vernetti, he/she sees the light in May of 2001.
The album sees Angela dipped in a popper atmosphere, with songs from the soft sounds, often combined to sharp texts, as "A gift" and "Too much sugar", written together with Faith Poggipollini.
A video is made for "The wrong key", decidedly the more song "angry" of the disk, while "free Fall", cover of "Waterfall" of Wendy & Lisa, enjoys of a good broadcast planning.
Announces him autumn tour you/he/she is put aside for an appointment to theater in November for a representation de "The monologues of the vagina" and for new appointments in study of recording.

At the end of the 2002 Angela it returns in the theater in the show "Maigret and the crime in theater", written by George Comaschi and by the writer Carlo Lucarelli.
Anticipated by the single one "Heaven", in February 2003 the new CD is published "Angela Baraldi", where close to old passages as "Á. naked feet" and "Confusion", they find place four unpublished passages produced by Guido Elmi; for "Heaven" a video is made.
Angela meanwhile continuous to work in the theater: it is among the numerous participants to the "V-DAY" to the Theater Sachall in Florence and it participates in the show "Sporting Life", with the group Zimmer Frei, on the theme of the sport and the doping; the show is also represented in July during the Festival of the Theater of Santarcangelo.

The following appointments still see her/it busy in the recitation: in July it participates in the show "Districts under the moon", while for the whole month of August it is in Bologna in the show "extraordinary Reunion of suggestion", beside George Comaschi.

To the beginning of the 2004 Angela it engraves a song with the singer songwriter rock Moltheni, to the moment not yet published, while to April it again participates in the show "Maigret and the crime in theater", with George Comaschi.

In November 2004 Angela starts the resumptions of the new film of Gabriele Salvatores "Quo Vadis, Baby", drawn by the homonym book of Grazia Verasani, I edit from Colorado Noir.
The film goes out in May 2005 with good success of public and criticism, and he/she also sees Angela interpreter of a passage of the sonorous column, a rilettura of the classical one of the P.F.M. "Impressions of September."
