Biography
Alizée, now aged 20, was born on the coast of Corsica on the 21st of August in 1984. She hails from Ajaccio which is also the capital city of the island.

Early on, Alizée sought to express her artistic streak. She loved to dance and began lessons at the age of
four. She became increasingly familiar with, and drawn to show business through her acting and singing
lessons. At the age of eleven, she entered a drawing competition by
colouring in an airplane and won the first prize. Not only did she win a
marvellous trip to the Maldives - a life-size reproduction of her
drawing was featured on the aircraft's cabin, which was to be named
"Alizée".

In 1999 Alizée competed in the show "Graines de Star" on the French broadcasting station M6. She sang the song "Ma Prière" from Axelle Red (Belgian female singer) and won. Shortly after, she participated in a casting and was selected to make some try-out recordings for a song, of which the music was written by Laurent Boutonnat and the lyrics by Mylène Farmer. The try-out recordings were that good, that Alizée was offered her first contract: she was to render the song "Moi... Lolita".
Since her first broadcastings on radio and television, she has stolen
the harts of many and has raised a hugh demand towards herself.
The first single was a huge success with over 1.5 million singles sold
in France. Her debut album entitled "Gourmandises" was then in the
making and it was released in France on the 28th of November, 2000.
The music is composed by Laurent Boutonnat and Mylène Farmer wrote the lyrics especially for Alizée based on her own desires, tastes and true life experience. Her songs are about teenage life, doubts, love and... her greediness. The album was a huge success, going platinum in just 3 months with 300,000 copies sold. Over 4 million copies of the album are sold worldwide. The second single "L'Alizé", was released at the same time as the album, producing another hit and reaching number one in the charts with over 700,000 copies sold in France.
In 2001 Alizée won interest abroad with international audiences beckoning her and her album due out in a number of European countries plus Canada, Russia and Japan. The song "Moi... Lolita" has made an exceptional headway for a French single and was a huge success in Europe. Alizée received several awards - NRJ awards, World Music Awards, M6 awards and other European awards. Her songs reached the top of the Italian, Spanish, German, British, Polish, Dutch and Russian charts and often held the
No. 1 slot for many weeks. During the year 2002 Alizée did a lot of TV performances throughout Europe.
In early 2003 the single "J'en ai marre" was released of the upcoming new album
"Mes Courants Electriques". Again, this was a co-operation between Alizée, Laurent Boutonnat and Mylène Farmer. On the 18th of March 2003 the album was released in France. The international version
of the album (outside France) contains four tracks in English. For the
promotion of her new album Alizée again travelled to many countries
including Japan where she, at the same time, recorded a television
commercial for the cookie brand 'Elise'. This commercial in Japan was
separate from the promotion of her album. But besides the release of
her new album in this year, Alizée gave the first concerts of her career.
At the end of August and the beginning of September she started
with seven concerts at the Olympia theatre in Paris. Afterwards she
began a tour in France. Two of the concerts took place outside France:
Belgium (Brussels) and Switzerland (Geneva). On the concert page you
can find the complete concert list including the merchandising. On the
18th of October 2004 both the cd and dvd of the concert were released.
