Odalys Garcia the hostess of "Lente Loco", the weekly comedy show from Univision Network is a rising Cuban star whose years of dedication and determination has made her the multi-talented performer she is today.Odalys began her artistic career participating in modern dance presentations at the age of eight. At age nine she won a scholarship at the Alicia Alonso School of Ballet in Habana, Cuba. There she developed her talents for dance and music for four consecutive years.
Upon Odalys arrival to Miami she initiated as a model and at the same time she continued her training in dance, drama, singing, voice/speech and modeling. In 1991 she started to work for Univision in a program called "Noche de Gigantes" a variety program with Don Francisco for two years. While doing "Noche de Gigantes" she became the hostess for the weekly show "De Pelicula" presenting and commenting about films; it aired for four years. In 1993 Odalys was chosen to co-host "Lente Loco", a very successful half-hour comedy program.
Odalys continued to show her acting talents when she was casted in the soap opera "Morelia", where she worked with several well known hispanic actors and at the same time participated as the main character in two theatrical presentations. For one year she was the Disc Jockey of the morning show at WQBA 107.5 FM, "La Exitosa" a Spanish language radio station in Miami. Its important to mention in Odalys artistic career, the many National and International events she has participated in, as well as her ample participation on television commercials.
Odalys is the spoke person of "Club Musica Latina" from Columbia House and has been for two years the spoke person and commercial personality for "Bally Total Fitness". In 1998 Odalys makes her first calendar Odalys 1999 and 50,000 copies were sold out just a few months after its release in the market. Then in 1999 Odalys 2000 calendar and Odalys 2000 video (30 minutes behind the scenes) were produced. This time 200,000 copies were printed to meet the demand.
Odalys is the Executive Producer of her calendars that is why she already produced her third calendar Odalys 2001 and it is now being sold. The distribution of this products are made national and internationally. Odalys latest project is the recording of her first compact disc under the production of Abraham Quintanilla |
