Leslie Louise Bibb was born on November 17, 1973 in Bismark, North Dakota, and raised in Nelson County, Virginia. She and her mother later moved to that state's capitol city, Richmond, where Leslie attended an all-girls Catholic high school. Leslie's father died when she was three.
