Lee Young-Ae is one of the top Korean actresses who was given her breakthrough role in 2000 with her portrayal of a Swiss-Korean military officer in the political drama Joint Security Area. The young Lee made her film debut in 1997 with Inshalla. She followed it up with a TV series. Lee is more known for appearing in romantic films like First Kiss and One Fine Spring Day. However, many fans in the West remember her for her role as Sophie in Joint Security Area, listening to the stories of two officers of opposite sides. Today, Lee continues success as an actress. |
