Née Deborah Jo Hunter Morehart on July 3, 1962, Hunter Tylo was raised in Fort Worth, Texas. The third of four children (she has an older brother and sister, as well as a younger brother), Hunter was a tomboy who enjoyed horseback riding and training guard dogs, and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian.
Using her striking looks to her advantage (surely her Cherokee Indian heritage from her mother's side adds something to her exotic beauty), Hunter started modeling as a teenager, and became a supermodel in the '70s and '80s. Just three months shy of her 18th birthday, Hunter planned on attending Texas Women's University on scholarship, but an unexpected pregnancy halted her plans. With an illegitimate child in tow, Hunter married the father of her son on July 18, 1980. The marriage ended in divorce in 1982.
