She only appeared in 2 episodes of Laverne and Shirley's eighth season as she was pregnant and decided to leave on maternity liscense. The character Shirley was written off by making her marry someone and forced to move overseas. Although the title remained in tact, Cindy Williams picture and credit were removed from the opening for the remaining season before the show ended.(December 2000) After her off-broadway tour of Grease with former Laverne & Shirley co-star Eddie Mekka, Williams filed for divorce on 12/13/2000 from husband of 18 years, musician Bill Hudson due to "irreconcilable differences." Williams is seeking joint custody of their 14 year old son, Zack. The couple also has another daughter, 18 year old Emily. Wrote with Penny Marshall before acting with her.Dated Laverne & Shirley co-star David L. Lander Before her marriage, was a sometime girlfriend/lover of the late Andy Kaufman Married to actor Bill Hudson from 1981 until 2000. They have two children: Zachary and Emily.
