Ariana Richards

Ariana Richards (born Sept. 11, 1979) has been unable to build on the success of her early career, which culminated in her role as "Lex" in the original Jurassic Park in 1993.
Ariana Richards' career started as a 7-year-old, appearing as a ballerina in a hair salon commercial. She is the sister of actress Bethany Richards.
In 1991, Ariana Richards won the Youth in Film Award in the category Best Young Actress for her part in the TV-Film Switched at Birth. She won the same award in again 1992 for her part in Locked Up.
During the mid-90s, she competed in equestrian events, jumping with her Hanovarian thoroughbred, Sundancer. She was also a sponsor for the Starlight Foundation for children.
Richards now works as artist, painting landscapes in Southern California. Ariana Richards has won numerous awards for her plein-air paintings, and she is a winner of juried competitions in California. Ariana Richards is also gaining recognition for her portraits and figures in landscape. Ariana Richards' paintings have been exhibited internationally; director Stephen Spielberg has one of her paintings hanging in his office.
Art Magazine lauded her work in its article "21 Under 31" in 2002. Her work has been spotlighted on the cover of American Artist Magazine, April 2003 and in the lead story, as well as a feature article in the September 2003 issue of Southwest Art magazine.
