Actress Amy Adams was unknown to most moviegoers until she played gabby and guileless Ashley in Junebug (2005) and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Adams has been in the movies and on television since 1999, when she debuted in Drop Dead Gorgeous (with Kirsten Dunst). She made the most of a small role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in 2002's Catch Me If You Can and co-starred with Rob Lowe in the short-lived 2004 TV series Dr. Vegas, but Junebug was her breakout role. The movie's reception at the Sundance Film Festival earned the movie wider distribution, and Adams was awarded an acting prize for her performance. Her other movies include Cruel Intentions 2 (2000), Pumpkin (2002, starring Christina Ricci) and The Wedding Date (2005).
